Overview

As a Network Operator with the University of South Carolina's Division of IT, I specialize in switch clearing, hardware returns, and access point servicing to ensure stable campus-wide connectivity. My daily responsibilities center around processing enterprise-grade hardware for reintegration or return, with a focus on accuracy, organization, and reliability.

I work extensively with last-generation Aruba, Cisco, and Juniper switches, clearing configurations, restoring factory settings via PuTTY, and ensuring each device is properly labeled and documented. Cleared switches are stacked in groups of 15, logged into inventory, and topped with printed RMA forms for efficient vendor processing.

Beyond switch handling, I assist with field support across campus: replacing faulty access points, re-terminating damaged Ethernet cables, and ensuring proper network restoration through testing and AP reconfiguration.
